Well, what a year it has been. We have all been through some very strange times, isolating at home, homeschooling and not being able to see our friends and families. Luckily we were able to reopen our clubs in March along with the schools where clubs are held. We have had so much fun working within our bubbles. We have been doing lots of arts and crafts, playing board games and doing puzzles, baking some amazing cakes and cookies, playing lots of outside sport, decorating some wonderful pottery and making seasonal decorations eg Easter. We even managed to display our Hungry Caterpillar work in the Aston Village shop, which we were very proud of.
Many parents who answered our recent yearly questionnaire have said how much their children enjoy coming to our after school clubs and holiday clubs. They commented on how their children feel part of our club ‘family’. In the uncertain world we are living in at the moment it is good to know that the children feel safe and cared for within our environment. They also have lots of fun, laugh a lot and enjoy time with friends, as well as making new friends.
We are already looking forward to our Summer holiday clubs and have lots of exciting activities arranged. We are also planning our October and Christmas holiday clubs, although these seem a long time away, it won’t be long. Hopefully by then we will be closer to normality.
Looking back to 2014, which seems like a long time ago, I started my first club at Aston & Cote Primary School. I haven’t increased any of my fees at all and now that all clubs are well established and running well I feel it is time to implement an increase. This will take effect from September 2021 and will be £0.50p per hour. I do hope that as parents/carers you can appreciate why this increase is happening and understand the reasons behind it.
I would like to thank all parents and carers for their continued support of my clubs.
